Last full day in London

Day 20 - Last day in London and we made the most of it. We started early at Kensington Palace (London Pass), and we felt like we had it all to ourselves. It was surprising for the palace to be in the middle of London, but it felt like it was miles away and out in the wilderness. It was quiet and peaceful with beautiful gardens and a large pond. Much of the palace was dedicated to Queen Victoria and her life growing up in the palace. We really enjoyed our time visiting Kensington. Next was a trip to the British Library to see the Magna Carta, and then back to Austin’s favorite pub in Covent Garden. After lunch, we toured Shakespeare's Globe theater (London Pass), but we couldn't take photos because they were rehearsing for As You Like It. It was awesome to see the stage in use. Our favorite surprise of the day was that we asked a guard at Parliament if we could pop in and watch some debating. They let us in and it was like we had the run of Parliament We watched debates in both the House of Commons and House of Lords. Very interesting as most of the discussion was about how to react to Iran seizing a British oil tanker. The whole building was beautiful, but we weren’t allowed to photograph most of it. Then to Harrod’s and an Indian dinner near our flat. We will hate to leave it tomorrow because it now feels like ours. We are departing first thing in the morning for Paris.
