Rainy Friday in London

Day 17 - Rainy day in London I think my feet will never be the same. We started out early for the British Museum and the awesome antiquities inside. Austin was most excited to see the Rosetta Stone. We looked at incredible ancient Egyptian treasures and statues from Greece. Then to Westminster Abbey (I wish we could have taken photos). It was very beautiful and we slowly wandered to all the graves. It was amazing to see Stephen Hawking's marker next to Isaac Newton. This is a good time for me to mention that we purchased the London Pass for access to many sights around London. On the London Pass website, you can purchase in a 1, 2, 3, 6, or 10 day pass. We only needed it for 4 days. On the Costco website, they offer a 4 day pass, so this is what we used. I will note sights that we accessed using the pass. Westminster was our first London Pass (LP) stop. Next we hopped into a pub by Parliament for some bangers and mash (Austin’s new go to meal). Then a mad dash to St. Paul’s Cathedral (LP) as the bell was sounding to close the line. Austin wanted to climb to the top and unfortunately I had to escort him. So we climbed and climbed and climbed. Have I mentioned that Austin loves to climb things? Fortunately we didn’t get back down until Evensong was beginning so we got to hear a choir and the beautiful organ fill the church. It was really a treat. It would have been even better if my legs weren’t throbbing and I didn’t leave that puddle of sweat behind. We finished off with a visit to the Tate Modern, Platform 9 3/4, and the Tardis police box. It was quite a full day and we have an early start tomorrow. Oh, and it rained all day but we kept going!
